YOU WILL NEED

The stitches/ skills you will need to know and KEY:

  • Chain (ch)

  • Slip stitch (sl)

  • Single Crochet (sc)

  • Increase

  • Crochet in back loops only

  • Weave ends and finish off

    Final Dimensions: 8 inches x 9 inches

Gauge:  7 sc= 4” 8 rows = 4”

The Pattern

With 9mm hook and Jersey Be Good yarn, chain 7

Round 1: sc in the second chain from hook, 1 sc in the next 4 chains, 3 sc in the last chain (now you will flip your work and continue on the other side of the chain) sc in the next 4 stitches, 2 sc in the last stitch (you will have a total of three sc in this stitch) You will have 3 sc on both ends of this round. (14 sc)

You will now just continue in a spiral.

Round 2: 2 sc in the next stitch, 1 sc in the next 4 stitches, 2 sc in each of the next 3 stitches, 1 sc in the next 4 stitches, 2 sc in the next 2 stitches. (20 sc)

Round 3: 2 sc in the next stitch, 1 sc in the next 7 stitches, 2 sc in the next 3 stitches, 1 sc in the next 7 stitches, 2 sc in the next 2 stitches. (26 sc)

Round 4: 1 sc in each stitch around through the back loops only. (26 sc)

Round 5: 2 sc in the next stitch, 1 sc in the next 10 stitches, 2 sc in the next 3 stitches, 1 sc in the next 10 stitches, 2 sc in the next 2 stitches. (32 sc)

Round 6 – 15: 1 sc in each stitch around. 32 sc. Changing colors on round 10.

Round 16: Place D-Ring on next to the outside of the next stitch and sc into the D-Ring and that same stitch so you now attached the D-Ring to the bag. 1 sc in the next 3 stitches. Chain 9. 1 sc in the next 3 stitches attach the D-Ring the next stitch, 1 sc in the next 3 stitches, chain 9, 1 sc in the next 3 stitches.

Round 17: 1 sc in each stitch all the way around. Make sure to do 7 sc into the chain 7 space for the bag handles. (30 sc)

Slip Stitch in the next stitch and finish off/ weave ends.

You are all done!
Now attach the bag strap to the D-Rings and off you go!
