A plastic container. I used a protein powder container that is 16 ounces. You can use whatever container you have (this project is environmentally friendly!) You can just adjust the pattern to fit around your container.

The stitches/ skills you will need to know and KEY:

Weave ends and finish off
Final Dimensions: 5 inches x 7 inches
Gauge: 7 sc= 4” 8 rows = 4”
CROCHET PATTERN
The base:
Round 1: Work 6 sc into magic ring. Do not join, continue in a spiral.
Round 2: (2 sc) in each st —12 sts
Round 3: [(2 sc) in next sc, sc in next sc]— 18 sts
Round 4: [(2 sc) in next sc, sc in next 2 sc]— 24 sts
Round 5: [(2 sc) in next sc, sc in next 3 sc]— 30 sts If your container is smaller or larger you might need to adjust the pattern. You can keep going until your crochet circle base is the same size as your container base.
Round 6: Work in the back loops only, single crochet all the way around. 30 sts
Working up the sides.
Now you continue in a spiral by doing 1 sc in each stitch. You will go as tall as the container. The second to last row stitch in the D-Rings by place them equally on two opposite sides of the bag. Place the D-Ring in front of the stitch and hold in place, now do a normal single crochet.
Once you get to the top of the container do one final row crocheting into the back loops only. Crochet the final two stitches together. Finish off and weave ends.
The lid: Round 1: Work 6 sc into ring – 6 sts. Do not join, continue in a spiral.
Round 2: (2 sc) in each st —12 sts
Round 3: [(2 sc) in next sc, sc in next sc]— 18 sts
Round 4: [(2 sc) in next sc, sc in next 2 sc]— 24 sts
Chain 7, insert into the same stitch and finish off, weave ends. You now have a loop.
The button:
5sc into magic ring. Pull tight. Do not join. 1 sc in each stitch (5sc) Finish off and leave a long tail for sewing. Sew the button closed and then sew it to the 2nd row from the top.
