YOU WILL NEED

  • I use 4-medium weight yarn. You will need one skein of each color or just use scraps that you have around. Some parts I use two strands of yarn on the hook at the same time, requiring a 6.5mm hook.

  • 5mm and 6.5mm crochet hook

  • Colors you will need: pink, black, white and gray

  • A hot glue gun and glue sticks

  • Tapestry needle

  • Felt for backing (optional)

The stitches/ skills you will need to know and KEY:

  • Chain (ch)

  • Slip Stitch (sl st)

  • Single crochet (sc)

  • Half double crochet (hdc)

  • Triple crochet (tr)

  • Decrease (dec)

  • Increase (inc)

  • Magic ring/loop

  • Weave ends and finish off.

Final Dimensions: 

Approximately 7.5 x 5.5 inches

Crochet Pattern

Bottom row and back of scooter

With two strands of pink on a 6.5mm hook, chain 21

Row 1: sc in the second chain from the hook, sc across [20 sc]

Row 2: (working the back of the scooter) sc in the first 8 sc, chain 1 and turn. [8 sc]

Row 3: sc in the first 6 sc, dec [7 sc]

Row 4: sc across [7 sc]

Row 5: sc in the first 5 sc, dec [6 sc] Finish off and weave ends.

Front of the scooter

Attach two strands of pink with a  6.5mm to the last sc from row 1, sc in the first four sc, chain 1 and turn

Row 2-10: sc across [4 sc]

Row 11: (the handle bars) chain 4, sl st in the second chain from the hook, sl st in the next two chains, 4 sc in the sc from row 10, chain 4, sl st in the second chain from the hook, sl st in the next two chains, sl st into row 10, finish off and weave ends.

With a long piece of black yarn and a tapestry needle, wrap the yarn around the chain 4 from row 11. Hot glue the end to hold into place. 

Head light

With one strand of gray on a 5mm hook, chain 5

Sc in the second chain from the hook, hdc in the next two chains, sc in the last chain. Finish off and weave ends. [4 sts]

Seat

With two strands of white on a 6.5mm hook, chain 6

Sc in the second chain from the hook, sc in the next three chains, 3 sc in the last chain (now you will be working up the other side of the chain), sc in the next 3 three stitches, 2 sc in the first chain. Finish off and weave ends.

Back wheel well

With two strands of pink on a 6.5 mm hook, chain 9

hdc in the third chain from the hook, hdc in the next five chains, 3 hdc in the last chain (now you will be working up the other side of the chain) hdc in the next stitch, dc, 2 tr, dc, 2 hdc in the first chain. Finish off and weave ends. [17 sts]

Front wheel well

With two strands of pink of a 6.5 mm hook, chain 6

2 sc in the second chain from the hook, 2 sc in each chain across [10 sc]

Finish off and weave ends.

Wheels (make 2)

Using two strands of white on a 6.5mm hook, make a magic loop

Round 1: Work 6 sc into ring – 6 sc. Do not join, continue in a spiral.

Round 2: Switch to black (2 hdc) in each st — 12 sc

Finish off and weave ends. 

Assembly

Use hot glue to place the pieces together. Use the picture as a guide.
