YOU WILL NEED

I use 4-medium weight yarn for all the appliqués in this pattern.

Colors you will need: white, black, dark green

6.5mm hook
-
A hot glue gun and glue sticks
-
Tapestry needle
-
Felt for backing (optional)

Final Dimensions: 6 x 6.5 inches
French Knot: Insert the needle from the back of the work to the front, wrap the yarn around the needle twice, insert the needle right next to the spot that it is being pulled up from the ice cream and carefully pull through to the back.
CROCHET PATTERN
Planter
With two strands of white on a 6.5mm hook, chain 14
Row 1: sc in the second chain from the hook, sc across (13 sc)
Row 2-9: sc across (13 sc)
Row 10: inc in the first stitch, sc in the next 11 stitches, inc in the last stitch (15 sc)
Row 11- 16: sc across (15 sc)
Finish off and weave ends.
Fold the top down 1/4 of the way down.
With black chain 50. Use hot glue to make a zig zag and then carefully place the chain on top of the zig zag.
Make two lines of french knots with black and a tapestry needle.
Big Leaf
With two strands of dark green on a 6.5mm hook
Chain 11, slip stitch in the second chain from the hook, sc in the next stitch, dc in the next 6 stitches, sc in the next and slip stitch into the last chain.
Chain 1, now you will be working on the other side of the chain
Slip stitch in the first stitch, sc in the second stitch, dc in the next 6 stitches, sc in the next stitch, slip stitch in the last. Finish off and weave ends. Make two more leaves.
Small leaf
With two strands of dark green on a 6.5mm hook
Chain 9, slip stitch in the second chain from the hook, sc in the next stitch, hdc in the next 4 stitches, sc in the next and slip stitch into the last chain.
Chain 1, now you will be working on the other side of the chain
Slip stitch in the first stitch, sc in the second stitch, hdc in the next 4 stitches, sc in the next stitch, slip stitch in the last. Finish off and weave ends. Make two more leaves.
Hot glue the leaves of the plant to the back of the planter. Place the entire piece on a piece of felt to make as a decoration or glue it right to a tote bag.
